What is art licensing?

Art licensing is an agreement that allows brands to use an artist’s designs on their products for a specific period of time and under agreed conditions. It’s a way of bringing artwork into real life products while the artist retains the copyright.

At my studio, designs are available for both exclusive and non exclusive licensing, depending on your project needs, across categories such as textiles, wallpaper, stationery, home décor, and more.

What is the difference between exclusive and non-exclusive licensing?

A non-exclusive license allows the same design to be used by multiple companies at the same time. This means the artwork may continue to be available for other brands and on platforms such as Print On Demand or fabric and wallpaper marketplaces like Spoonflower.

An exclusive license grants you exclusive use of a design within a specific product category and for an agreed period of time. The copyright remains with Ana Goldar Design, meaning the design can still be licensed for other categories unless a full exclusivity agreement is arranged, covering all product areas.

How do I license a design?

To license one of my designs or an entire collection, simply fill out the enquiry form with a few details about your project. I will review your request and get back to you to guide you through the next steps, whether you’re interested in an existing design or would like to explore a custom creation.

Can I customize a design for my brand?

Yes, this depends on the type of license. Non exclusive licenses can usually be used across multiple products and categories, while exclusive licenses are limited to the specific category agreed at the time of licensing. Multi category use can always be discussed as part of the licensing agreement.
